Harry started working Front of House in restaurants aged 15, and never looked back. After completing a BA in History, he joined Fuller, Smith & Turner as part of their Graduate Hospitality Scheme. Harry flourished in the Fuller’s environment and became General Manager of his own site at the tender age of 24. This was when Harry discovered his passion for wine, whilst helping to write wine lists for the group and training his front of house team and his fellow managers.
After six years at Fuller’s, Harry took a sabbatical to study to WSET Level 3 , passing with Merit, and spending several months in the vineyards of South America, both tasting and working with vines and in the cellar.
When the time came to return to Britain in 2017, Harry joined the Bel & The Dragon team as “Head of All Things Wine”. He manages the group’s wine offering, including purchasing, curating the overall wine offering and training the front of house team.
His oenophilia certainly doesn’t limit itself to the workplace as he has convinced his family to donate parts of their allotments in Norfolk to growing vines; with “Chateau Christie” expecting to see the first bottles in 2019.
