From San Francisco to London — The Global Bulk Wine & Spirits Conversation Continues

IBWSS London 2025 to Spotlight Private Label Growth, Sustainability, and Emerging Trends in the Global Bulk Wine & Spirits Trade
After an energetic IBWSS San Francisco in July, the International Bulk Wine & Spirits Show (IBWSS) is now gearing up for its next chapter: IBWSS London, this November 20-21, 2025. This event will bring together key players in the bulk wine, bulk spirits, private label, and contract bottling arena for two focused days of sourcing, networking, and insight-sharing.
IBWSS San Francisco 2025, themed “The New Economics of Wine & Spirits: Supply Chains, Tariffs, Consumer Shifts”, delivered a comprehensive experience with over 80 global exhibitors and more than 20 expert-led sessions targeting supply chain strategies, tariff volatility, and private label growth.

“One of the biggest takeaways from IBWSS San Francisco was identifying the bright spots in the wine category where the opportunity is real and growing,” said Sid Patel, CEO of Beverage Trade Network. “Low and no-alcohol wines are carving out a strong consumer base, eco-friendly wines continue to gain traction, and there’s a clear market for high-alcohol styles, flavoured wines, and formats designed for convenience such as boxed wines, Tetra Paks, and products sold through C-stores.”
“The ‘better-for-me’ wine trend is also here to stay,” Patel continued. “We’re seeing demand for products marketed as having no taste additives, no sugar added, low carb, organic, or even Paleo-friendly. These attributes resonate strongly with health-conscious consumers and can be powerful differentiators when building a brand story.”
“Private label is not just growing in the US — it’s huge,” said Patel. “Some of the biggest players are Kirkland by Costco, Walmart, Sam’s Club’s Member’s Mark, H-E-B, Trader Joe’s, and Target. The key is to understand each chain’s model. For example, Costco and Sam’s Club build their programs around member loyalty, which is a very different approach from traditional supermarkets like H-E-B.”
“The same principle applies to hotel chains launching new concepts,” he added. “Each concept has a different guest profile, and the most successful beverage programs are those designed specifically for that audience.”
“On the spirits side, distillers are embracing co-packing, bulk supply, and private label like never before,” Patel said. “They see the clear benefits of this model for reaching more customers and diversifying revenue streams.”
“In terms of bulk trends, white wines — especially Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc — are in strong demand, while in bulk spirits, aged four-year-old whiskey remains the best-selling SKU,” Patel concluded.
At IBWSS San Francisco, WineBusiness.com noted that “what makes IBWSS distinctive is that it is part business conference and part exhibition.” The event highlighted key trends shaping the global bulk wine and spirits trade — the rapid growth of private label programs, the shift toward sustainable sourcing, and the return of face-to-face deal-making as a critical driver of business. These same forces will take center stage at IBWSS London this November, with a focus on the unique opportunities within the UK and European markets. Read full SF show article here.
Why London Is Next
With private label and sustainability gaining unprecedented momentum, the UK has always stood out as the capital for the bulk wine and spirits trade. London, as a gateway to Europe, offers unmatched access to supermarket private label expansion, cost-competitive opportunities through bulk sourcing, and sustainable logistics solutions that align with today’s carbon-conscious strategies.
The UK also presents a particularly strong opportunity in the current global trade climate. With ongoing tensions, tariff shifts, and regulatory uncertainty impacting both China and the USA, the UK market offers relative stability and a predictable trading environment. For international bulk wine and spirits suppliers, London provides a secure, strategically positioned entry point into Europe — one that supports long-term planning, consistent supply chain management, and reduced exposure to sudden policy changes.
IBWSS UK will bring this opportunity to life with a global exhibition floor featuring producers, brokers, bottlers, and solution providers designed to connect buyers and suppliers for meaningful, deal-driving conversations.
